[Officers] FW: FW: State of the order and Safe Environment

Afternoon Gentlemen,

 

As all things go some things change.  First, I have added a couple more
names to this mailing list as I think they are part of the core in our Order
and their involvement in affected ministries.

 

Also, due to the tragic death last Monday of Norm Vogt, I am asking for your
indulgence here.  Norm, even though not a Knight himself, has been a
faithful friend and assistance to us over the years by always being there to
open and tend the bar for all of our dinner functions.  So, with that in
mind, since Norm's vigil is Wednesday evening, essentially at the same time
I had proposed this meeting (for those of you I just included please read
the attached messaging) out of respect for Norm I would like to suggest we
go to the vigil and change this meeting to the next evening Thursday,
January 26.  I know this may cause a problem for some to switch but I will
be attending the vigil and that is the indulgence I am seeking.  I hope to
see many of you there maybe we can sit as a group.

 

Also, I have attached the MOU that was given to us at the meeting we had
with Supreme reps on January 9.  It may shed some light or it may cast more
doubt; that is for you to be the judge, but it will be the focus of the
meeting on Thursday.  Still the same place my house 230 Golden Hills Drive,
Sutter Creek and time 5:30 P.M.

Morning Gentlemen and Brother Knights,

 

I have heard from 7 of you.  Five are going to be here, two have other
commitments; those who have responded you know who you are and need not
respond again, those who have not please take the couple of minutes to let
me know if you can make it or not on Wednesday.  Do I need to change to
Thursday if that will work for all of you we can do that, or I can have two
separate meetings (one each night or at a different time) if that will work;
but this is an important issue and I want your involvement in the decision
making process since you are the core of this council.

Brothers,

 

I was just in council with another brother and have decided we need to have
an emergency officer's meeting prior to our February one to get the
information out there to correct a lot of the misinformation I think has
been spread about this Safe Environment thing, and to allow you to voice
your opinions and concerns.  I also want to extend this invitation to our
members who are involved in helping out at our events, and those I know who
are involved in the parish ministries.  

 

Tentatively, and unless I hear differently, I would like to meet:

 

Date:     Wednesday, January 25, 2017

 

Time:     5:30 P.M.

 

Place:    My house 230 Golden Hills Dr., Sutter Creek

 

Please RSVP by January 20, 2017 if you are or aren't able to attend so I
have an idea of who is coming; ok?
